The

Welshpool & Llanfair Railway, Powys, Wales UK from Taiwan. This modern
locomotive was supplied to the W&L by Millzone International Co. Ltd. of
Taiwan who arranged inspection, purchase, road transport, carriage, shipping
and export to Felixstowe, UK. The locomotive, which arrived at Llanfair
Caereinion in mid April 2004, is in full working order and has become a
valuable member of the W&L fleet, regularly hauling heavy permanent way
trains up the taxing 1 in 29 gradient of Golfa Bank.
Another
locomotive (#185) has recently been procured and shipped to the
Mediterranean port of Fos-sur-Mer
for onward delivery to Construction Ferroviaires Giragr (CFG), St. Giron
d’Aiguevives, Near Bordeaux, France where the locomotive has been completely
refurbished, both internally and externally, to a very high standard. This
locomotive is now being further modified for use on a private railway in
France, these modifications including the successful regauging to 2’-0”.
This regauging, shown in the picture to the left, has been possible by
expedient of utilizing the original axles and it is possible for these
locomotives to be easily and economically adapted to any gauge from 2’-6” to
2’-0”.
Millzone In ternational
is in a position to obtain these locomotives to order from the original
Taiwanese owners and to arrange delivery to ports around the world. These
locomotives are in working order and, due to international shipping
regulations are supplied minus batteries with all fluids drained and

The original operator has indicated that
other surplus items of railway equipment may be available for sale shortly,
including p/way machines, inspection trolleys and freight rolling stock.
